Student Events
Open House
Open houses are scheduled two to three times a year and are a wonderful opportunity for parents, students, and teachers to come together as a community to enjoy a dinner and to see what instruction takes place during the first hour of each school day (October Open House). In the classrooms, parents will observe their child(ren) involved in a schedule of tasks and in whole class instruction. Our open house at the end of the school year allows parents and students to view special exhibits, art work, and school projects in each of the classrooms.
Catholic Schools Week
This year the theme for Catholic Schools Week is "Catholic Schools Light The Way". It will be celebrated across the nation during the week of January 27. As Catholic Christians, we believe that Jesus is the light of the world. But in some strange, wonderful way, we also are the light of the world. Because we are created in God's image and likeness, every person has a divine light inside them. This divine light is a gift that God gives to every human to help guide us to be disciples of Jesus and live out God's will - to light the way!
So during this very important week, we consider the question: How do Catholic schools help guide students to be disciples of Jesus and "light the way"? One of the things we do really well is educate the whole child, in mind, body and spirit. Catholic schools address the spiritual needs of our children and help them to know and believe they are unique creations of God who possess divine light within them. Secure in this knowledge, graduates of Catholic schools for generations have gone forth into the world ready to make a difference, to share their light and live God's will.
We schedule many activites during Catholic Schools Week. We begin with Sunday Mass at 9:00a.m following by a pancake breakfast in Barry Hall hosted by room parents and student council. All are welcome! Monday: ice skating at the Joan Kroc Center, Tuesday: Community Appreciation Day, Wednesday: walkathon t-shirt/jean day, Thursday: crazy hat day & pep rally, Friday: nacho sale at lunch
