Welcome Alumni!
September 2012 marks the 61st anniversary of the founding of St. Martin of Tours Academy. So many have benefited, over the past 61 years, from a quality education offered by exceptionally well qualified and dedicated teachers and staff.
As we reflect back on the history of the school we thank, especially, the pastors who have been leaders with their support: Fathers Dennis Barry, Donal Sheahan, John Sproul, and our present pastor Father James Poulsen. We also remember, with gratitude, the School Sisters of Notre Dame who were the founding staff of the school in 1951.
Also, among those who we remember with appreciation, are our parishioners who have a strong tradition of support for and commitment to providing a Catholic School in this parish. Many have themselves attended the Academy and /or have children or grandchildren who attend.
Those of us who graduated in "the early years" remember class sizes of 40, combined grades and a much smaller campus. So much has changed. We are proud of the school facilities, grounds, the use of technology for instruction and, most of all, the quality that comes through our Workshop Way® system of education.
The school enjoys an excellent reputation in the community. Enrollment is strong. As an alum, you can feel proud to say you graduated from St. Martin of Tours Academy.
We invite you to visit us at any time! We want you to always feel welcome and at home at your Alma Mater.
Nancy Ryan,
SMA Alum and Past Principal
